What an incredible turnout we had! What a way to kick start our season. With standing room only, the Valkyries have huge hopes for a successful season ahead.
For those of you who missed it and would like information, please read the following information.
Our season kicks off with conditioning practice on February 21st and will run Tues, Thurs and Sundays at Community Park. This will be for 3 weeks. Once registrations closes on February 28, we will host a Murph Meet & Greet on March 3rd. After gear distribution, practices will continue on Tues, Thurs and Sundays.
This season we have stepped out into our own non profit organization. By doing so, all youth sports teams will have the opportunity to benefit from the Valkyries. All funds raised beyond our operating costs will be available for any youth sports program within Lake Stevens to ask for financial or volunteer help.
We have multiple fundraisers planned throughout the year. We kick off the season with our Egg My Yard community event. This will run now through the night before Easter. Not only is this an opportunity to start bonding as a football family and get to know each other, but we will also get to play Easter bunny for hundreds of families in the city! In April we will have a gear sales fundraiser and in May we will be hosting a Mom Prom! And as it is with every year, we raise money by charging admission to our games.
Once we are fully up and running, we will have forms for teams to request money or volunteers for their upcoming events. This will be an easy and quick way for teams to get assistance. Once the forms are submitted, it is up to the Board to approve funds or volunteers for your organization. It is our goal to connect with all sports organizers as soon as possible.
If you want to join the Valkyries, we would love to have you! The registration process is simple. There is an online registration form that we will send to you via email. The registration fee is $120 - this will cover your gear rental fees (helmet, shoulder pads and practice pants) and your game day jersey. In addition you will have to read and sign the player code of conduct. Once all 3 items are complete, you are eligible to start practicing with the team and we will add you to our Facebook communication page.
If you love what we stand for but don't want to play that is OK! We are always looking for sponsors. If you own a business or know someone who does, we would love to chat. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to your Valkyries Board.
